Torrential rains in late June of 2006 severely damaged the sesquicentennial stonework supporting the bridge over Piney Branch (just east of Hunter Mill, between mileage markers 13.5 and 14). Repairs should be completed this spring.We recently asked NVRPA staff about the repairs. They expect construction to start in a couple of weeks, lasting approximately 3 to 4 months. This would mean the new bridge could be in place by July.
